Welcome back to Term 2 everybody. Room 12 is back in full swing, and looking great with the walls now littered with fabulous work completed by students in Term 1. Feel free when calling in, to look around with your child, so they can show you some of the work they proudly completed.

I am looking forward to a great term, especially the speeches in week 9 and seeing all my parents/caregivers at the 3 Way conferences that same week also, following all of our Term 2 testing.

Below are some of the moments captured in Terms 1 & 2;

ROOM 12 ORIGAMI WITH ROOM 11
Rm 12 were invited to buddy up with Rm 11, to learn how to create origami ornaments, whilst acquiring new skills for future use, in particular – handmade gifts. Thanks to the patience and skills of Rm 11, we were able to create these cool decorative ornaments, with minimum ease, whilst having fun doing so.

Cory, seeing the funny side and persevering with the task of creating ‘The Bird’.

Porsha looking very proud of the beginnings of her origami bird.

Katipa also looking very proud of the beginnings of his origami bird.

ANZAC Service
On Tuesday the 3rd of May, Room 12 attended a touching tribute to the ANZAC soldiers who fought at Gallipoli in 1915, during World War 1. Thanks to the wonderfully creative skills and team work of the students, who made the beautiful wreath for us.

Devine and Anthony, our 2 very brave Room 12 representatives, proudly and carefully carried our wreath to its resting place as a tribute to the ANZAC soldier’s of Gallipoli.

House Sports
On Friday the 6th of May, WPS students were given the opportunity to don their house colours with pride, and earn their house points, during an outdoor sporting challenge. Unfortunately the rain came before anticipated and everyone made a quick retreat undercover, in the hall. Until next time..............GO KEA!!

NZ Music Month

Room 11&12 enjoying the sounds of their handmade instruments, accompanied by other instruments and NZ music and artists, in this instance ‘Tiki Tane’.

Term 2 Music Lessons
Room 12 would like to thank and farewell Mr Lecture, who has taught music at WPS for many years. We would like to wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.

We would also like to welcome Mrs Mitchell, and we look forward to learning lots more about music during her classes.

Term 2 Physical Education
Room 12 would like to welcome back Mr Merchant our new PE teacher for Term 2. We look forward to a great term of PE.
